Below, you’ll find answers to our most commonly asked questions across bridal, production, and specialty artistry. If you don’t see your question here, we’re always happy to assist directly — no two projects or brides are the same, and neither are our conversations.
BOOKING & PAYMENTS
How do I secure my wedding date?
Your date is secured with a signed agreement and a 20% non-refundable retainer, applied toward your final bill. Once booked, we handle artist pairing, communication, and timeline coordination.
When is my remaining balance due?
The final balance is due the day before your wedding. This keeps your morning seamless and stress-free.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Afterpay is available upon request and must be arranged at least one week prior to your wedding date.
Is there a service minimum?
Yes — we require a 6-service minimum for all weddings. This ensures proper staffing and a smooth, luxury-level timeline for your entire bridal party
TRIALS & VISION
When should I book my trial?
Most brides schedule 2–4 months before the wedding. Earlier is perfectly fine based on your comfort and planning timeline.
What happens during my trial?
Your trial is a collaborative, creative session where we explore your Pinterest boards, inspiration photos, and personal aesthetic. Together, we refine a look that feels aligned with who you are and how you want to feel.
Are trials required?
We highly recommend them — they give you clarity, confidence, and a chance to meet your artist before the big day but are not required.
INCLUSIVITY & PERSONAL STYLE
Do you work with all skin tones, hair types, and genders?
Absolutely. Inclusivity is at the heart of Ultraviolet. Our artists are trained and experienced with all skin tones, all hair textures, all identities, and all styles.
What if I don’t usually wear makeup?
You’re in the right place. We specialize in glam that still feels like you — whether soft, natural, bold, or somewhere uniquely in between.
Can you recreate looks from photos or Pinterest?
Yes — inspiration photos are welcome. We use them as a guide and tailor the final look to your features and wedding aesthetic.
WEDDING DAY DETAILS
Can you accommodate large bridal parties?
Yes — this is one of our specialties. We build out your morning with the right number of artists and assistants to create a smooth, on-time, cohesive glam experience.
Do you offer touch-ups or all-day coverage?
Yes. Hourly touch-ups, 4-hour blocks, and full-day concierge coverage are available for brides who want seamless support through weather changes, portraits, outfit changes, tears, dancing, or multiple looks.
Do you offer touch-up kits for brides?
Yes. We offer curated bridal touch-up kits as an optional add-on for brides who want peace of mind throughout the day. These kits are designed for quick, easy refreshes and are perfect for moments between photos, ceremonies, and receptions. Touch-up kits are not required, but available for those who want an extra layer of confidence.
What’s the vibe the morning of?
Supportive, calm, organized — with just the right amount of fun. Think luxury artistry meets hype-squad energy.
Do you play music while we get ready?
Absolutely. Whether you love metal, indie, romantic playlists, or your own custom vibe, we match your energy.
TRAVEL & LOCATIONS
Where do you travel?
We service Northern California, Southern California, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas elopements, and destination weddings.
Do you charge a travel fee?
Travel is charged at $0.70/mile roundtrip from your assigned artist’s location.
Do you require hotel accommodations?
For early start times, long-distance travel, or multi-artist events, accommodations may be required to ensure your team arrives rested, prepared, and on schedule.
Can I adjust services after booking?
We’re happy to accommodate additional services whenever possible. Because Ultraviolet Artist’s have reserved those service slots exclusively for your event, we’re unable to remove services once your contract is signed.
Your contract reflects the guaranteed service count booked for your day, so the original total remains in place. This ensures your timeline, artist staffing, and morning flow stay perfectly coordinated. In conclusion, the original number of services will remain the minimum billed amount.
What if someone in my party can no longer receive services?
FOR OUR ALT, GOTH & NON-TRADITIONAL BRIDES
Will you understand my aesthetic?
Absolutely. Ultraviolet was built for brides who live outside the traditional narrative. Whether you want soft glam with tattoos on full display, dark romantic glam, metal-inspired editorial energy, or a blend of all the above, we honor your aesthetic without diluting who you are.
I don’t see brides like me on Pinterest. Can you help?
Absolutely. Most alt brides don’t see themselves represented online — which is exactly why Ultraviolet exists. Bring whatever inspires you (even if it’s not bridal); we translate your references into wedding-day glam that feels you.
